Themed walks in Alcoutim and on the Spanish bank of the Guadiana River

This annual walking festival in Alcoutim and Sanlúcar de Guadiana provides three days of themed walks, kayak tours, Medieavel castles, gastronomic experiences and more!

The walks focus on the unspoilt beauty of nature in the area, promoting sustainable tourism. The guided walks have different levels of difficulty and take place in the various parishes of the municipality of Alcoutim and on the Spanish bank of the Guadiana River. There are workshops and plenty of entertainment too.

The Alcoutim and Sanlúcar de Guadiana Walking Festival (“Walkers: Border Experiences”) is back to highlight Alcoutim’s natural, cultural, and gastronomic gems and promote sustainable tourism. The festival’s slate of activities includes everything from walks along the Guadiana River to kayak tours. Participants can watch spectacular sunsets, explore medieval castles after dark, and discover the secrets of beekeeping in the Algarve’s highlands. Visitors can also take part in culinary experiences, such as breadmaking workshops and local food and drink tastings.
