Morgado da Torre

Morgado da Torre Winery, located at Penina, near the village of Figueira, was established in 1999.  The estate of Morgado da Torre is one of the oldest estates in Portimão and today boasts 162 hectares.  This estate is divided into different areas of production; citrus trees, cork trees, irrigated cereals, dried fruits and 20 hectare are dedicated to vines. At Morgado da Torre the wine is produced in stainless stells vats where the temperature is controlled. The bottling of the wine is done throughout the property.  The annual production of this small family winery is approx. 90,000 litres with the entire process, from the planting of the vines to the shipping of the wine, controlled by the owner.  Morgado da Torre was the first winery in the Algarve producing 'wine farm 'certificates with designation of origin - Algarve / DOP Portimão. Visits to the winery and wine tasting are available Monday to Friday from: 10am to 12 noon and from 2pm until 5pm.
